For our production team in Rotterdam, we are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Electrical Project Engineer.

About the job:

In this role, you will apply your technical expertise within a dynamic industrial environment. You will work on a wide range of electrical engineering projects, from business case development and design to installation, commissioning, and final delivery. You collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and suppliers, playing a key role in driving process improvements and technical innovations.

You communicate effectively, take initiative, set priorities, and maintain strong control over planning, quality, and safety. Your expertise directly contributes to a reliable and continuously improving production environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Acting as Installation Responsible Person (IV) in accordance with NEN 3140 / 3840 .
  • Leading, executing, and coordinating electrical engineering tasks and projects .
  • Developing and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and quality standards .
  • Serving as the technical expert for electrical engineering matters within the plant.
  • Selecting, testing, installing, and commissioning new production and process equipment .
  • Identifying issues, performing root cause analyses , and preventing recurrence.
  • Managing, updating, and safeguarding technical documentation and drawings .
  • Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring daily activities and performance.
  • Aligning with stakeholders and reporting on progress, milestones, and risks .

About you:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an industrial or production environment.
  • Proven experience managing electrical engineering projects , preferably within medium‑sized manufacturing companies.
  • Installation Responsible Person (IV) certification for high/low voltage is a plus, or willingness to obtain it.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of production and process installations, control systems, and technical standards.
  • Experience with SAP, manufacturing or process software, and MS Office.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Effective communicator able to align and engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive, structured, and focused on optimization and safety.
