Banking & Finance Associate (3-7 PQE) – International Law Firm, Amsterdam

An international law firm is seeking a Banking & Finance Associate (3–7 years’ experience) to join its growing Amsterdam team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex financing transactions while developing your career in a collaborative and globally connected environment.
Position: Banking & Finance Associate (3–7 PQE)
Compensation: Competitive salary + bonus + progression opportunities
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid working available)
About the Role
You will join a well-established Banking & Finance team advising a broad range of clients, including banks, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and corporates.
The practice is highly active in cross-border financing transactions , including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, and general corporate lending. You will work closely with colleagues across international offices, gaining exposure to multi-jurisdictional deals and high-value transactions.
This is a hands-on role with strong client contact, early responsibility, and clear progression opportunities within a growing and internationally integrated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including:
- Leveraged and acquisition finance
- Corporate lending
- Real estate finance
- Refinancing and restructuring transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate finance documentation
- Support and manage cross-border transactions
- Liaise with international colleagues on multi-jurisdictional matters
- Provide clear, commercial legal advice to clients
- Contribute to business development and client relationship growth
Key Projects You’ll Be Involved In
- Cross-border financing transactions across European markets
- Sponsor-backed acquisition finance deals
- Refinancing and restructuring mandates
- Multi-jurisdictional lending structures involving international banks and funds
What You Bring
- 3-7 years’ experience in Banking & Finance law
- Dutch qualified and admitted to the Dutch Bar (essential)
- Strong experience in cross-border finance transactions
- Solid understanding of finance documentation and deal structuring
- Fluent in Dutch and English (essential)
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills
- Ability to work effectively in an international team environment
- Ambition to develop within a leading international law firm
